We popped in just for a quick drink, so take this review with a grain of salt.
In a few points:
1. We had a super-friendly bartender from Colombia. He didn't quite know what we were asking for but tried his best.
2. Our drink was cheap! Approximately half of what I was expecting.
3. The interior is cute. I'm a sucker for bright colours, and Las Iguanas delivers! The tables and decor - inside and out - are vibrant and fun.
I would come back, given the chance. -

We came in because they advertised 2 for 1 drinks. The drinks were so good (and there's a huge selection so it was hard to choose!). They have a separate gluten free and a vegan menu as well which I appreciated. The food was amazing and we even got dessert. I'll come back next time I'm in London!

I always have it in my head that I like Las Iguanas. I've not been in a long time - and I don't go very often - so when a Snorlax chase (success!) had me up by the Brunswick at lunch time, I thought I'd wander over there and see what restaurants they had, and immediately decided on Las Iguanas.
They have a lunch menu, which is quite varied but yet a bit uninspiring. I decided to go with the Cuban sandwich, something I know I've at least sampled from here before. I opted for curly fries and paid an extra 75p for aioli, which I assumed would be garlic but was instead a smoky chipotle.
The sandwich was pretty bad. Slathered in mustard, kind of bready and falling apart, but the meat was nice and peppery inside. But the cheese wasn't melted and the ham was oddly hard and the whole was definitely less than the sum of its parts.
The fries were nice. The aioli wasn't.
The service was fine but not great, and I dare say a bit on the smarmy side. But if they're going for a Rio vibe, that's about right.
There are better, cheaper options around here. I won't return. -

We went here after finding out that the nearby GBK was closed for maintenance. I know, I know, it's a Mexican chain but we were in the mood for burgers and having trekked over town specifically to get to GBK we ordered some anyway. Yes, we were those people. Sorry.
The black bean and beetroot burger sounded interesting but unfortunately was off the menu, so I joined my companion in ordering a beef burger, with extra Emmental cheese. Unsurprisingly it was cooked well done, which isn't how I like my beef, but it was okay. You can't expect medium in a chain which isn't a burger chain. The brioche bun was lovely and fluffy and the slaw and fries were tasty.
We had ordered sweet potato fries instead of French fries, but our server let us keep the regular fries on the house as it took some time to bring over a couple of portions of the sweet potato fries we had originally asked for. It was a mistake in a fairly quiet restaurant, but it was handled graciously and our waiter was friendly and apologetic.
Bill was around £26 for mains and drinks for two, with a 25% student discount on food. Fairly average, but that's all we needed. Next time we'll try some proper Mexican food and see if it's any better. -

We've been waiting our food for like ages and the waiter delivered wrong food to our table. Also, waiters seemed to hate us and kept on bumping things on the table. What did I do wrong to deserve something like that? I only come here to have my lunch.
